BURBANK, CA (November 20, 2007) – Oh my stars! More Flintstones adventures are on the way, with Warner Home Video's (WHV) release of the Hanna-Barbera animated classic
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show, on DVD March 18, 2008. Bedrock's favorite tots, Pebbles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble, have grown into groovy teenagers and star in their very own show along with their gang of high school friends, as well as some familiar faces including Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty.
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show: The Complete Series will be offered in a two-disc set retailing at $26.99 SRP.
Originally airing on CBS,
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show was a 30-minute Saturday morning animated series that followed the high-jinks of neighbors Pebbles Flintstone (voiced by actress Sally Struthers,
All in the Family) and Bamm-Bamm Rubble (voiced by actor Jay North,
Dennis the Menace) in their teenage years. Set in the pre-historic town of Bedrock, each episode followed Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm as they attended Bedrock High, where they would become embroiled in a variety of misadventures along with their pals Wiggy, Penny and teen inventor, Moonrock. Other regular characters included Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, as well as Pebble's rival Cindy and her sidekick Fabian. Thrown into the mix was the memorable but the perpetually unlucky character, Bad-luck Schleprock and motorcycle gang, the Bronto Bunch. In this series, much like her father, Pebbles was always coming up with "brilliant ideas" that usually got the gang into some sort of trouble.
"Consumer response to the first six seasons of the original
Flintstones series on DVD was tremendous. Realizing how much demand there was for Flintstones programming, we wanted to bring more material out of the vaults and onto DVD," commented Amit Desai, WHV Vice President, Family, Animation and Sports Marketing. He added, "
The Flintstones are part of American pop culture and loved by generations of television viewers. We think consumers will show a lot of interest in
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show on DVD."
DVD special features include four bonus episodes: Squawkie Talkie, Suitor Computer, Beauty and the Beast and Bedlam in Bedrock.
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show: The Complete Series will be available on a two-disc DVD set from WHV on March 11, 2008 and will retail for $26.99 SRP. The release of
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show: The Complete Series will be supported by an online media campaign.
