We heard it on the grapevine! We've gotten some early word - though sources very familiar with the studio - about Sony Picture Home Entertainment's plans for the first season of
The Partridge Family on DVD. As
we reported earlier this month, Sony will initially team with R2 Entertainment to sell the first season set via an infomercial/direct response campaign. That happens in March. But we're told that the same release will find it's way into retail stores soon after that, on
May 3rd.
This date is still subject to change, of course, but as of right now that is supposed to be the plan. Whether or not the second season heads to DVD will depend on sales of Season 1. We have little doubt that it will be popular, though. Stay tuned and we'll have all the details for you, just as soon as Sony's offiicial announcement arrives (still a couple of months away).
