Last week we saw the long-awaited DVD release for
Paper Chase - Season 1 by Shout! Factory, who licensed home video rights for this series from Fox. Fans who have already dug into this six-disc collection may have noticed that there were some audio-video sync issues on the set, where the dialogue isn't properly matching up with the lip movements on the video on certain episodes. We can assure you that these issues are much more easily noticed on some DVD players than on others, so many fans may not consider there to be any problems at all. But some will experience this issue.
We brought this situation up with the studio, and Shout! has agreed that there were apparently some manufacturing glitches. Our contact at Shout! tells us that they "
will definitely replace Disc 3 for those would like to get the replacement DVD. [Customers] have to email Shout! Factory’s general info email and we will get that replaced." The e-mail address to use is "shout@b3custserv.com"; please just sent a note to inform them that you have a defective disc for
Paper Chase - Season 1, and they will take you through the process from there.
The third disc was specifically singled out in the instructions we received, but if you have issues with any other discs in the set then we suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask about it at the same e-mail address. Our thanks to Shout!, of course, for backing up their product and taking care of the customer.
