Earlier this month we
reported that a contest being held by NBC stations in select cities featured a 2nd Prize that consisted of copies for the forthcoming release of
The Office - Season 4, and that the contest rules stated that the DVD would be available starting September 9th. It seemed like we had our release date for the 4th Season set, right?
This morning Universal formally announced
The Office - Season 4 on DVD, and instead the official information is that this 4-disc set will be available to own starting on
September 2nd, a week earlier than the info in the contest rules led us to believe!
Cost is $49.98 SRP for 14 episodes (5 of them double-length, for a total of 19 half-hour segments) in this strike-impacted season that shows off more of the antics at Dunder Mifflin's Scranton office. Specs are shown as anamorphic widescreen video, English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio, and subtitles in English and Spanish. No other details are provided yet, but we'll bring you more info, including extras and package art, when Universal provides them. Stay tuned!
