The Odd Couple - 2nd Season: CBS/Paramount Release Date Confirmed, Time-Life Bails Out

It was a month ago that we had the heads-up that CBS/Paramount will be bringing out The Odd Couple - The 2nd Season on August 28th. In the past few days, we've received confirmation of that date from a completely separate industry source, so I think we can expect that to be the plan. Stay tuned and we'll let you know when the studio makes it official, with a formal announcement.
On the other hand, we brought up last time that we didn't know what the status is of Time-Life, and whether or not they would be releasing the second season set at all. Now we've gotten the answer to that, thanks to reader Todd Williams. He wrote to them and asked that very question, and the response he got was this: "The second season should be released sometime in the fall of 2007. Unfortunately, it does not appear the item will be available through Time Life, as it was not a huge success. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause." So it appears that the first season was a good enough success in stores, but the direct-sale campaign didn't go nearly as well. We appreciate Todd passing this info to us, so we could pass it on to all of you. Stay tuned and we'll have the box art, and any other info, when CBS/Paramount makes it available to us.
