We've gotten notes from various readers who have attended book signings for
Jack Klugman's book, Tony and Me. Starting with reader Joe Parrington a couple of weeks ago, and most recently with reader Robert Keil a few days ago, we are getting repeated e-mails from folks who heard it directly from "Oscar" (Klugman) at these signings that the long-awaited
Odd Couple DVDs will be coming out in
Spring 2006, possibly in April.
We got the most details from our first e-mailer, Parrington, who is the Executive Producer of a local show in Seattle called
Friday Night Revue. He currently has
posted a pic at the website of his company, DreamLogic Films, that includes himself, a
Revue Co-Producer, and Klugman. Parrington spoke extensively with Jack Klugman's son, Adam, and passed this on to us about that conversation:
...Adam said that his father is currently very active in working with Paramount in offering to help contribute as much bonus material as possible, including interviews and audio commentaries. Jack's book is being well-received and Adam went on to say that he feels confident that we will see The Odd Couple on DVD sometime in the first half of 2006. Finally, Adam urged all of the fans that want to see The Odd Couple released on DVD to show their support by purchasing his dad's book and to also visit www.TonyandMe.com and let their voice be heard.
Good news indeed. Paramount has not yet made any announcements or released any information about this release, but if the April 2006 timeline holds true then we may see something official within the next 60 to 90 days. Stay tuned for more developments about this wonderful news!
