NURSE JACKIE returns for a fifth season with Edie Falco as Jackie Peyton, a role that has earned Falco her third consecutive Primetime Emmy nomination. After leaving rehab early, Jackie finds sobriety and relative happiness -- but that is the calm before the storm. With her marriage coming to an end, a careless accident sends Jackie to her own All Saints Hospital for emergency care. While recovering, she meets NYC policeman Frank Verelli (Adam Ferrera), whose flirtatious advances may lead Jackie into uncharted territory: dating. Stepping out of her usual comfort zone, challenged by new colleagues, Jackie faces her one-year sobriety anniversary.
Today retailers were informed that Lionsgate Entertainment will bring Nurse Jackie - Season 5 to DVD (3 discs; $39.98 SRP) and high-def Blu-ray Disc (2 discs; $39.97 SRP) on February 18th. Each 10-episode collection will be "Loaded with Special Features: Commentaries, interviews and exclusive featurettes," according to the studio. Here's the breakdown on that:
"A Sober Jackie" Featurette - Like a diabetic in a doughnut shop, Jackie is working in a high-pressure environment surrounded by the very medications that could cause her to fall off the wagon. New show runner Clyde Phillips discusses the decision to have Nurse Jackie stay sober in Season 5, as well as the other big changes in Jackie's life, as she faces the consequences of her past choices and embarks on a new romance.
"New to the Floor" Featurette - The newcomers to All Saints tell us about their backgrounds, how they came to be on the show, and what it's like joining a series five seasons in.
