Three months ago we
brought you word that Amazon had advance order listings for
Nurse Jackie - Season 1 on both
DVD and
Blu-ray Disc formats. At the time there was no release date, because Lionsgate had not officially announced the title.
We're actually still waiting on that formal info from the studio, but today one of our retail industry contacts told us that they had gotten word from the studio that the release, in both formats, will arrive in stores on
February 23rd. The DVD version will come on 3 discs, presenting 12 episodes of the Showtime-airing series in anamorphic widescreen video. Audio will be in English 5.1, with subtitles in English and Spanish. The DVD price is $39.98 SRP.
The Blu-ray Disc release of
Nurse Jackie - Season 1 will deliver those 12 episodes on 2 discs, presented in high-def 1080p widescreen video. The audio format hasn't been specified, but is expected to be in English DTS-HD Master Audio. English and Spanish subtitles will be on this version as well. The price of this release is just a penny more than the DVD set, at $39.99 SRP.
