Nip/Tuck - Is It What's Outside That Counts? New Version of 'Op Room' Box, Plus Rear Cover Art *UPDATE: WRONG REGION!*

Earlier this week we brought you an exclusive early shot of the "operating room" version of the packaging for Nip/Tuck - The Complete 3rd Season, which comes out on August 29th (also with an alternate "Miami skyline" package available). That hi-res shot we got at the time matched what retailers saw in a sneak-peek which we showed off in our first news post about this release.

Now that Warner Home Video has added the "operating room" box art to their password-protected press site, though, they seem to have decided to go with a different look for the box...one that matches the U.K. (Region 2) box art layout. Hmm, strange that they would do that, especially as it breaks with the title bar's "banner strip/numbered box in the center" look of the first two seasons, and the alternate "Miami skyline" packaging's look. We almost have to wonder if someone at Warner didn't upload the wrong version of the art to the press site!

In either case, here is what they are currently showing (including a very small peek at the discs), plus a look at the back of the box as well. Whatever it ends up looking like outside, it is of course what's inside that counts. Ah, but that's not the premise of the show, it is?

UPDATE:
We have been contacted this afternoon by one of our overseas readers, Andreas Koether, who had the sharp eye that we didn't! Andreas points out that the rear cover art shown above has the Region 2 and Region 5 symbols, indicating that this packaging is for the West Europe (R2) and the East Europe (R5) releases. You can see those white-on-black icons with the numbers in the middle of a "world map" graphic, just to the right of the DVD logo and just underneath the row of five photos. Thank you, Andreas, for setting us straight! We're going to contact Warner Home Video and let them know that the wrong illustrations have been uploaded to their press site, and when we get the corrected versions we will let you know. Stay tuned!
