We've brought you
front and rear package art for Warner's long-delayed
December 30th DVD release of
Nip/Tuck - Season 5, but along the way we've told you several times that the front cover art is subject to change. We figured that it would, and now it has...and along the way the studio has also revised the formal title of this release (which is the real crux of the picture's change, actually). The set is now officially titled
Nip/Tick - Season 5, Part 1.
Why the change? Because there were 22 episodes produced for the fifth season, and so far only 14 of these have aired. Recent promos on the F/X channel say that the remaining eight episodes will start airing on January 6th (which ties in nicely with the late December release date for the "Part 1" DVD set). Then the show will be back in Fall 2009 with broadcasts of the sixth season. There will be a seventh season in 2010, and an eight season in 2011, and then the show's supposed to wrap for good.
Of course, that's a long way off and things can change...but right now, according to various reports in the media, that is indeed the plan. Here at TSoD, we'll deal with all of that when the DVDs for those seasons get announced. For now, though, here's a look at the revised front package art for next month's 5-DVD, 14-episode set. And below that is another look at the back of the box...in case you missed checking it out last time:
