A week and a half ago we
brought you a statement, provided by Universal Studios Home Entertainment, about their
November 18th DVD release of
Night Gallery - Season 2. The unfortunate word was that the episode "Satisfaction Guaranteed," along with the story "Witches Feast," would not be included on this release due to their inability to find the footage.
Scott Skelton, who runs the excellent NightGallery.net fan site, and who contributed to the extras on this upcoming DVD release, thought this was odd (as did a number of fans), and looked into it. At the end of last week he provided us with this statement (similar to one he posted that day at the Home Theater Forum message board):
I spoke with my contact at Universal, and was told the second episode WILL include the complete, uncut story segment "Satisfaction Guaranteed."
Unfortunately, "Witches' Feast" will not be included, but I was told that, in the event Season 3 is released, they'll be looking to include that in the Season 3 DVD set as a bonus.
However, the liner notes on the box (which had already been printed) still says that "Satisfaction Guaranteed" is not included, so there is likely to be continued confusion on this point in the future.
With agreement from Scott, we've held off posting about this until we could confirm that information with the people at Universal Studios who provided us with the statement that the footage wouldn't be included. We've heard back from them this week, and they verify that Scott's info is 100% correct. Out thanks to him for the information, and the research behind it.
