Yesterday morning we got a heads-up from Scott Skelton, who runs the
Night Gallery fan site at NightGallery.net. Scott is one of the series experts that is featured on the
bonus material you'll find on Universal's upcoming
November 18th DVD release of
Night Gallery - Season 2.
Scott wanted to let us know that the cover art for this release, which we first
brought you a week and a half ago, was going to change. He had passed on some fan concerns to Universal about that artwork, noting that fans liked the picture of show creator and host Rod Serling, but didn't understand why he was in a hallway, and why the paintings that were so important to the show's concept weren't somehow used in the packaging. He was pleased to tell us that the studio took the fan input very seriously, and advised him to expect a change shortly. He decided to let us know, since we had the previous version already posted.
Our thanks to Scott for letting us know. This morning we found that Universal had indeed provided us with updated package art! The hallway has been replaced by the portrait featured in the story "Deliveries In The Rear," a second-season installment which you will find on the discs in this release. The good-looking picture of Serling has been retained, but it's interesting to note that the wording of the title across the top was changed from "The Complete 2nd Season" (which would be consistant with the previous season one release) to simply say "Season 2". See for yourself:
