Night Court will be among a new group of sitcom titles in their
"Televsion Favorites" lineup of DVD releases. These are typically a single-disc release for around $10 SRP with anywhere from 3 to 6 episodes from the show featured on the disc. Blog writer Pavan Badal says that this is "promised", but doesn't indicate that this is a hard announcement just yet. It sounds like he was told by his sources that these releases are meant to test the waters for possible season-set releases later on, but Pavan points out - and we agree completely - that this is very strange in
Night Court's case since a
Complete 1st Season set is already out, and anecdotal evidence is that it sold quite well upon its release this past February. We're therefore looking as confused as Bull Shannon typically is over why Warner feels the need to go back to a "best-of" format, but stay tuned and we'll try to find out more and fill you in on any further developments.
