NewsRadio - Raised On NewsRadio: 4th Season Announcement!

Posted by David Lambert

The next-to-last season of NewsRadio has been announced for DVD release this morning by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. All 22 episodes will be found on this 3-DVD set that will hit the airwaves on June 20th. As a bonus, there may be a featurette (we're still waiting on finalization of that item), and there *will* be the original "pop up" 50th episode from the 3rd season. Guest stars from the 4th season start with Jon Lovitz, formerly of Saturday Night Live. Lovitz is a suicidal person out on a ledge, as Phil Hartman's "Bill" tries to interview him. Lovitz would later join the cast for the 5th season as "Max Lewis," replacing Hartman after his untimely death. Other folks that pop up this year include Lauren Graham, Paul Gleason, Ron Jeremy, and David Cross & Bob Odenkirk (of Mr. Show with Bob & David).

Video is Full Frame (1.33:1), audio is English Stereo, and this is closed captioned for the hearing impaired. Running time is 480 minutes, and it will run you $39.95 SRP. Here's an early look at the cover art, and it's small (and subject to change). We'll be back with hi-res final cover art in the not-too-distant future, and hopefully we'll have good news about that featurette when we do!
