NewsRadio - The Complete 1st and 2nd Seasons was originally supposed to be out in February 2004, over a year ago, but it was
delayed from that to a 2005 release. The
explanation for the delay was that the show's creator, Paul Simms, got in touch with the studio and requested they hold off, so he could work with them and add extras to this release.
Now Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced what
Amazon.com has posted for a few months:
May 24th will be the release date for this long-awaited set! The exact list of extras hasn't been announced yet, but so far they're hinting about a Featurette, a Blooper Reel, Commentaries, Filmographies, Weblinks and Bonus Previews.
As you can see from the brand-new picture shown above, the box design did not change, nor did the menu screens we
first showed you sixteen months ago. Cost is $39.95 SRP (Amazon is presently selling pre-orders for $29.96, though). It's still at 3 DVDs, running 660 mintues for every episode from the first two seasons, in their original network broadcast length. Here's the back-of-the-box description:
