Bob Newhart returns to the TV as Dick Loudon, as he and his wife Joanna decide to leave life in New York City and buy a little inn in Vermont. Dick is a how-to book writer, who eventually becomes a local TV celebrity as host of "Vermont Today."
Very recently we
passed along rumors that
Newhart - The Complete 1st Season was on the way to DVD in early 2008. Yesterday retailers like
DVDEmpire.com were given an official release date by Fox:
February 26th.
Cost provided was $39.98 SRP for 660 minutes, but DVDEmpire is discounting their advance orders to $29.80 for the 22-episode first season. Absolutely no other info was available yet, nor is cover art, but we can tell you to look out for guest stars this season to include Rue McClanahan (
Golden Girls), K Callan (
Lois & Clark), Dana Elcar (
MacGyver), Robert Pastorelli (
Murphy Brown), Daniel J. Travanti (
Hill Street Blues), Jerry Van Dyke (
