Warner Home Video has announced an
August 11th release of
The Scooby-Doo Double Feature, a single disc running 169 minutes which brings together two episodes of
The New Scooby-Doo Movies (the second, 1972 incarnation of the show that replaced
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?). The included items are "
Scooby-Doo Meets Batman" and "
Scooby-Doo Meets the Harlem Globetrotters." Pricing and package art for the new release isn't available yet, but the studio did provide the description below.
These are a couple of fun installments, so if you don't have them in your Scooby collection yet, this may be an easy way to grab both! Also available on DVD is
The Best of The New Scooby-Doo Movies, a 4-disc set containing all the episodes (including these two) from this celebrity-filled animated series that Warner was able to secure the home video rights for (word on the grapevine is that license-holders of some characters who appeared in missing episodes had declined to participate).
Scooby-Doo Meets Batman: They move like shadows in the night. Protecting the innocent, thwarting injustice and stuffing themselves with Scooby snacks! That's right - the most legendary names in crime-fighting history join forces as Scooby-Doo and the Mystery, Inc. gang team up with Batman and Robin. The action begins as The Joker and The Penguin try to cash in on a crooked counterfeiting scheme only to be foiled by the Dynamic Trio of Batman, Robin and Scooby-Doo! But, The Joker and The Penguin return to try and steal a flying suit until Scooby-Doo and the gang prove that with a little Bat-help, they have what it takes to bring the sky-high scoundrels back to earth!
Scooby-Doo Meets the Harlem Globetrotters: Scooby-Doo and the Mystery, Inc. gang score big thrills when they team up with the legendary Harlem Globetrotters in two hilarious action-packed mystery adventures. On a visit to a quaint New England town, the gang is spooked by close encounters with the ghost of Paul Revere and a fire-spouting sea serpent. But it's a whole new ballgame when the kids get a mystery-solving assist from their new pals: The Fabulous Harlem Globetrotters. Then, the Globetrotters and the Mystery, Inc. crew are ship-napped to a creepy island full of ghostly frights - where Scooby-Doo and the gang again join forces with the wisecracking hoopsters for some slam-dunk crook-busting fun.
