We
said that you should expect it, and now at long last it's here! Paramount Home Entertainment will debut
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigation Service - Season 1 on
May 30th. This is a 6-DVD set of the CBS show which stars Mark Harmon (
Chicago Hope, Chasing Liberty), Sasha Alexander (
Mission: Impossible III), Michael Weatherly (
Dark Angel, Loving), and David McCallum (
The Man From U.N.C.L.E.). A spin-off of
JAG (which gets its own DVD release in June),
NCIS from Creator, Executive Producer and Director Donald P. Bellisario (
Magnum P.I., Quantum Leap, etc.).
We should mention, before moving on, that the information we received actually had two different street dates in it for this product. The other one was "June 6th". We've asked the studio for clarification on this, to see if it got pushed back a week. We'll let you know what they say, but right now we're going with the May 30th date because retailers, including Wal-Mart, have that date down on their schedules.
Look for 16 hours, 49 minutes of running time covering 23 episodes, plus exclusive bonus featurettes (details on those extras are still forthcoming). Video is 16x9 widescreen, audio is Dolby Digital English Stereo and Spanish Stereo, and this release is closed captioned for the hearing impaired. Wal-Mart shows a $49.98 list price.
