In each episode of this fascinating disc, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, the MYTHBUSTERS, set out to explore three urban legends. Can a penny dropped from a skyscraper kill a pedestrian walking below? Can a bullet made out of ice kill someone and then vanish without a trace? As special effects experts with over 30 years of experience, Jamie and Adam do all they can to answer these age-old questions.
A general retail release is on the way from Ingram Entertainment for MythBusters - Urban Legends on DVD. Running 198 minutes long, this 4-episode collection comes on a single disc for $14.98 SRP. It arrives in stores on February 23rd. We've got the list of included episodes for you, followed by a look at the front of the box:
EXPLODING TOILET: Will a toilet explode when a flammable substance is sprayed into the bowl and then ignited with a match? Do you get wetter running or walking in the rain? Can assassins use bullets made of ice in order to not leave evidence in their victims? Our intrepid heroes find out.
CELL PHONE DESTROYS GAS STATION: Jamie and Adam test whether or not using a cell phone at a gas station causes the pump to explode. Also, do silicon breast implants explode with pressure at high altitudes? And can high-speed CD-ROM drives really shatter compact discs.
PENNY DROP: The MythBusters explore the penny dropped from a skyscraper can kill a pedestrian below and test whether you can literally bake yourself on a tanning bed. Then they ask, could Lucille Ball have broken a Japanese spy ring by picking up radio signals in her tooth fillings?
EXPLODING LIGHTER: The guys have a gas exploring the myth of the "Exploding Lighter" - can a disposable butane lighter suddenly ignite with the force of several sticks of dynamite? The duo also test the myths of the "Silver Dollar," "Gunslinger" and the "Hangman's Noose."
