Several weeks ago we
reported that Amazon.com had posted a pre-order listing (see button link, below) for
Mystery Science Theater 3000 - 20th Anniversary Edition. This is Shout! Factory's upcoming 4-DVD set with all-new material, whose contents (features and lots of extras) will be formally announced in a few weeks at the San Diego Comic Con 2008.
This set arrives on
October 28th, and as of this writing Amazon is still letting fans lock in their pre-orders at $48.99, a nice discount from the $69.99 SRP. Now Amazon's listing has also revealed the package art for Shout!'s first collection, and we've got it for you below. It looks like a rounded tin, which we're sure fans won't mind at all.
We also have advance word from Shout! that they are already planning on a follow-up multi-disc release, which ought to be out in the first part of 2009 and once again contain episodes that are new-to-DVD. Stay tuned for more details about that!
