While we've all got the winter holiday season on our minds right now, studios are looking ahead to April Fool's Day, or April 1st, as they plan months ahead for their DVD release schedule. This morning Universal announced that April 1, 2008 will be the day they release Murder, She Wrote - The Complete 8th Season, a 5-disc set that - believe it or not! - is nowhere near the end of the run of the show yet (it ran for twelve seasons, plus some post-series telefilms).
Cost will be $49.98 SRP for 21 episodes from the 1991-92 season, running 1074 minutes. Video is full frame, and audio is English Dolby Digital 2.0, with English subtitles. Angela Lansbury is joined by guest stars such as Wings Hauser, Roxie Roker ("Helen" from The Jeffersons and mother of Lenny Kravitz), Alan Oppenheimer, Barbara Bain, Andrea Thompson, Jessica Walter, Pat Hingle, Conrad Janis, Tricia O'Neil, Chad Everett, Andreas Katsulas, Howard Keel, David Soul, Marisa Berenson, Adrian Paul, Jenna Elfman, Robert Vaughn, Ron Glass, Michelle Johnson, David Birney, Maryam d'Abo, Marcia Cross, Kate Mulgrew, James Coburn, Ken Kercheval, Darren McGavin, Noble Willingham, Gerald S. O'Loughlin and Barbara Babcock...and probably a ton of others I'm overlooking!
