Two weeks ago we
posted a story describing how Universal Studios Home Entertainment was prepping the DVD release of
Murder She Wrote - The Complete 10th Season, but needed advice from the fans: should the episode called "Amsterdam Kill" be included with the 10th Season set (the season it was originally produced for), or should it instead be grouped with the eventual release of the 11th Season, which is the year it actually aired?
We had a nice response from our readers, with opinions expressed on each side, and we passed it all along to the studio for their consideration. Last week, Universal
formally announced The Complete 10th Season, but didn't come out at the time and say which way they had decided. The description of the release said "21 episodes" (the number of episodes that were broadcast for Season 10), but that wording turned out to be - as we suspected - written prior to the studio asking for fan input.
Today Universal has told us what they've decided. As we said, there was a lot of feedback, with strong feelings each way, and it was fairly evenly split. So Universal decided to make both camps very happy, and simply will include "Amsterdam Kill" on both releases! For
Murder She Wrote - The Complete 10th Season, you can expect to find it as a bonus episode included on that
July 7th collection. And, when
Murder She Wrote - The Complete 11th Season is eventually released, you'll find it in place as the second episode of that season, too. This leaves it up to fans to decide when and how they'll watch it; a great way to settle the matter!
We're still waiting on package art for the 10th Season's 5-disc set, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, it's
up for pre-order at Amazon now, so go ahead and lock in your copy at a discount.
