A week ago today
we let you know that Universal Studios Home Entertainment is preparing a DVD release for
Murder She Wrote - The Complete 10th Season. Today the studio has followed up with their official announcement, formally letting retailers know to expect the set to be released on
July 7th.
It will come as a 5-disc set, with episodes presented in full frame video and English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio. English subtitles are also included. The cost is $49.98 SRP. Cover art and other specifics aren't available yet, but stay tuned and we'll bring updates to you when they are available.
The main reason for our post last week was to ask fans about the episode "Amsterdam Kill," which aired in the 11th season but was originally produced for the 10th season. The studio was curious about what the fan preference was: include that ep with the Season 10 DVDs ("production order"), or keep it with the eventual Season 11 set ("airdate order")? We got a LOT of responses to this; thanks to everyone who wrote in. We passed the feedback on, but so far we haven't heard a verdict from Universal about what they intend to do.
However, today's announcement to retailers included the below description of the set, and it specifically says "21 episodes". Now, that could be an indicator of their decision (which would mean they kept the airdate order, and will put "Amsterdam Kill" with the eleventh season set). Or it could just be some wording which was written up weeks ago, before Universal even asked us to pass the question along to fans. We're not sure. So don't take this to mean that a decision has been made just yet. We'll pass along the word from the studio, just as soon as we can!
