Late yesterday afternoon Disney announced the DVD release of
The Muppet Show - Season 3! This 4-disc set will arrive on
May 20th with all 24 episodes - fully restored! - including guest hosts such as Helen Reddy, Roy Clark, Liberace, Loretta Lynn, Alice Cooper, Cheryl Ladd, Pearl Baily, Raquel Welch, Gilda Radner, Danny Kaye, Lesley Ann Warren, Harry Belafonte, Sylvester Stallone, Roy Rogers & Dale Evans, Lynn Redgrave and Leslie Uggams! In addition this release will have these extras:
- Documentary: "The Making of The Muppets"
- "Muppets on Puppets" featuring Jim Henson and The Muppets
- And Much More!
Running time is approximately 612 minutes. Video is full screen and audio is English Dolby Digital. Cost is $39.99 SRP in the USA and CA$59.99 SRP in Canada. The cover art will feature Fozzie the Bear with collectible "flocked" packaging (in other words, Fozzie's image has got fur that you can feel on the front of the package), and we've got a nice 3-D image of it below. The studio cautions that this art design is not necessarily final, and could be subject to change, but we doubt it changes too drastically (if at all):
