We've posted a couple of stories about
The Mr. Magoo Show - The Complete Collection DVDs recently:
one in mid-November, where we first told you that the 4-disc set was coming out on
Feb. 8th for $39.98 SRP, and
a mid-December follow-up which revealed a bonus 1963 "Mr. Magoo" comic book would be included, and in which we first showed the cover art.
In both articles (but moreso in the first one), we discussed the confusion over which
Mr. Magoo series would be put on these discs. There was the original film shorts shown in theaters since 1949, the
1960 syndicated series that first brought the character to TV, an NBC network show in 1964, and then a new series in 1977. The info we had from publisher Sony Wonder didn't make it clear which of these were on the discs.
Now we have the answer, we think. Below is a picture of the back of the box, which describes the contents as "The 1960's Television Classic". That could still mean either the 1960 or the 1964 series, but the details say that this set contains 130 cartoons (in) 26 full shows, which much more closely matches the known info about the 1960 syndicated series.
