This past October we
reported on word from MPI Home Video, that the 1967 Eve Arden and Kaye Ballard series
The Mothers-In-Law would come to DVD during the 2nd Quarter (spring) of 2010. Since then we've heard no further word from the studio, but now we've gotten an update of sorts from Kaye Ballard's official website, KayeBallard.com! The
most recent entry at the top of their "News & Events" section says this: "
Word is that THE MOTHERS-IN-LAW DVD set will be released on Mother's Day of this year!"
Mother's Day is, of course, the second Sunday of May (in the USA, in any case). So for 2010 this holiday falls on May 9th. However, DVD releases never happen on Sundays, and almost always occur on a Tuesday. So if the goal is for MPI to have this release out in time to be given as a Mother's Day gift (which makes all the sense in the world), then we should expect it to show up in stores on either May 4th or possibly April 27th. We hope MPI fills us in on this properly soon, so we can pass it along to you and let you mark it on your calendar. For now, though, we're happy to provide this approximation. Our thanks to Ken Atkins, the webmaster of Kaye Ballard's official site, for letting us know about the update over there. Stay tuned for more!
