Moonlighting - New Report On Moonlighting Extras!

Posted by David Lambert
2/28/2005

Fans of Moonlighting are anxiously awaiting the official announcement - with date and details - of the May release of the shows first multi-disc DVD set. We don't have that coveted info just yet, but we have new info today about the extras, thanks to the new issue of Video Business, dated February 28th.

The trade magazine has a spotlight story this week called "TV on DVD: Small Screen Grows Bigger On Disc," written up by Cindy Spielvogel. In the article, Spielvogel talks to Lions Gate and writes up this tidbit from them about the Moonlighting supplements:
With its May release of the first two seasons of Moonlighting, Lions Gate will offer added value both inside and out. The series will be released in premium packaging and include commentaries with Cybill Shepard, Bruce Willis, and creator Glenn Caron along with other cast and crew. Featurettes will include the show's fans, who have been instrumental in both the marketing and creation of the DVD, (Lions Gate Home Entertainment's Marketing Director, Kajsa) Vikman says. The president of Moonlighting's fan club is even slated for a commentary.

Sounds good. Let's recap that list of information:
  • Commentaries from Cast & Crew, including Cybill Shepard, Bruce Willis, and creator Glenn Caron
  • Commentary from the President of the Moonlighting Fan Club
  • Featurettes, including a spotlight on the show's fans
  • Premium Packaging for the DVDs, with what should be 25 hours of episodes from the first two seasons

Stay tuned, and we'll bring you more Moonlighting info as soon as we get it.
