Becoming a mistress isn't something than most women set out to do, it just seems to happen. Mistresses follows the fortunes of a group of thirty-somethings who have been friends since university: Katie has become a doctor, and has been secretly seeing a patient. Her best friend Trudi is grieving the loss of her husband, killed in 9/11. And there's Jessica, whose anarchic lifestyle supplies lots of gossip and humor...but is there more going on than even her closest friends know about? And then there's happily married Siobhan. Or is she? Part drama, part thriller, this is a bold take on modern love! Starring Sarah Parish (Cutting It), Sharon Small (About a Boy), Orla Brady (Nip/Tuck), Shelley Conn (Part Animals).
This past Friday saw the BBCAmerica broadcast debut of
Mistresses, a British program that aired its first six-episode series (season) in early 2008, and whose second series is currently airing in the U.K. All 12 episodes are going to air consecutively in the USA, and shortly after the run is completed we'll see a 4-DVD collection released in North America.
