Yesterday we started getting a ton of mail from
Middleman fans, who saw
the notice yesterday at "The Middleblog" about an upcoming "Middle-DVD." The blog is run by Javier Grillo-Marxuach, a name who might be familiar to TV fans as he was a producer and writer on such shows as
Lost, Medium, Charmed, Boomtown, Jake 2.0 and others. Grillo-Marxuach left
Lost at the end of the second season, creating a comic book title (for Viper Comics) called "
The Middleman."
The story was picked up by the ABC Family cable channel to be developed into a TV series, with Grillo-Marxuach creating and exec producing the show. 12 episodes of
The Middleman were broadcast on ABC Family from June to September of 2008, . Now Grillo-Marxuach writes at his blog that the folks at Shout! Factory will be releasing a DVD set for
The Middleman, "chock-full of the kind of extra goodness you have come to expect from the middleteam." The projected availability for this release is
Summer 2009, timed (naturally) to coincide with the San Diego Comic Con.
Head on over to Javier's blog using the link above for the entire original post. I'm REALLY looking forward to this, aren't you? (I haven't seen the series yet, but I've heard sooo many good things about it!) Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated with whatever more we find out about this. Hopefully there will be word about a second season of the show by then, too! Our thanks to everyone who wrote in, with Tara O'Shea getting special marks for getting the info to us long before anyone else did. Thanks, Tara!
