BBC Home Video has announced that they will bring the original
Men Behaving Badly to DVD on
January 25th, 2005. They'll release series 1 and series 2 in separate single-disc sets, or packaged together. The show was the inspiration for the 1996 remake staring Rob Schneider, Ron Eldard and Justine Bateman. The original series - from the producers of the U.K. version of
Coupling - ran for 6 seasons, a total of 40 episodes, plus some specials.
Gary (Martin Clunes) needs a renter to help pay the mortgage on his flat. Unfortunately, neither of his renters seems to be able (or willing) to pay any rent. First there's Dermot (Harry Enfield) and then Tony (Neil Morrissey). Both of them 'get the hots' for Deborah (Leslie Ash), who owns the flat upstairs. Gary also has thoughts in that direction, in spite of the fact that he has a regular girlfriend, Dorothy (Caroline Quentin). Based on a Simon Nye novel of the same name, published in 1989.
We have very few details on the releases, but we can tell you that they will come with a featurette, a TV special, and deleted scenes. Suggested retail price is $19.98 U.S. each, or $39.96 for the two-pack.
