At the beginning of this week we
had the news that
Melrose Place - The 5th Season, Volume 1 is coming to DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment on
February 10th. At the time we didn't know the exact number of episodes which would be included on this "half-season set," nor the disc count or pricing for the package. Now we've gotten word from retailer contacts that this will be a 4-disc set running 887 minutes, and it will contain the first 19 of the season's episodes. Cost is $39.98 SRP (which is twenty less than the list price of the complete fourth season set).
While we're not sure yet, we *think* that this count of "19" could possibly be counting the double-length episode "Great Sex-pectations" as "two episodes." Hopefully, though, this installment will appear on the DVDs as one long episodes, as it originally aired on the night of February 3, 1997...and not broken up into separate airings, as seen later on in syndication. Assuming that is the case, then here is a list of what we'll see, followed by early cover art provided to retailers along with the above info. This small picture might just be temp art, however, and the picture below was accompanied by a note that the finalized packaging pictures are still pending.
