Yesterday we
reported that Timeless Media Group (TMG) is preparing a
November 15th DVD release titled
Medic - The Groundbreaking Hospital , the acclaimed (and
controversial!) 1954 series starring Richard Boone. In our story, we mentioned that there had been 59 episodes produced overall, and that TMG's description (sent to retailers, such as Amazon, and visible in their early listings) noted that there would be "50" episodes.
Various readers who are interested in this release have been interested in confirming that count, and inquiring as to why the entire show's run wasn't included. One of our readers, Joey, received this answer from the studio which fills us in further about both questions: "
Actually we had an error in our advertising...Our Medic set will only have 44 episodes; those were as many as we were able to obtain for redistribution." No other details about the reasons were provided. TMG is working on correcting the episode count at Amazon and elsewhere, and so we wanted to pass the correction along to our readers as soon as possible. Our thanks to readers Joey and Brad for their assistance.
