After our
story the other day showing off the nice, colorful box art for
McHale's Navy - Season 1 (coming
March 20 from Shout! Factory), a friend of ours thought we should remind you (a thought we agreed with): this DVD release is in
black and white, reflecting the original broadcast method of these episodes. Our friend is in the home video journalism industry, and has a review copy of the product, so they know what they're talking about. Our friend insists that they don't need credit for the heads-up, but we thank them all the same! You'll thank them, too, if you had fears that this release would be altered for the home video version, filling up that grayscale palette with artificial colors. Nope. Now you know you'll get the episodes exactly the way they were first seen in 1962!
