Maude - 'Ladies Night TV' Trailer Shows Maude Among TV-DVD Previews!

This past Tuesday the folks at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released the long-anticipated Facts of Life DVD set, finally delivering a TV series that fans have been wanting on home video for quite a while! On the first disc in this 4-DVD set, the studio hints that 4 other long-awaited shows will also make their DVD season-set debuts soon as well. If you take a look at the "Ladies Night TV" trailer in the section for previews, you'll see a number of shows advertised. Among those isMaude!

Nothing is specifically said, but it joins a long list of other shows in the trailer which are all on DVD already, or about to be released soon. Among those programs mentioned in these previews are She-Spies, Charlie's Angels, V.I.P., Cagney & Lacey, I Dream of Jeannie, The Partridge Family, The Flying Nun, Strong Medicine, Gidget, Bewitched and Hart To Hart...all series with strong female roles in them. Sony even went so far as to flash the opening-credits logos of each show, which certainly makes it seem like they're busy transferring episodes to our favorite digital format, eh? Below is a look at a couple of screen shots captured from the trailer, which will surely continue to appear on other upcoming DVDs.

When will we know more about possible season-set DVD releases of Maude? We'll just have to wait until Sony is ready! After all, there were rumors last Fall that this was on its way, and it's still not here quite yet. Stay tuned, though. We don't have a way to confirm this, but one of our readers - Michael Krahn - wrote in last week to tell us "I met Adrienne Barbeau at a signing for her new autobiography last night in Burbank. We were talking about "Maude" and she told me that they had filmed special features but there was no release date scheduled yet.." Interteresting. Our thanks to him, and to all of our other readers who took the time to e-mail us about this trailer, and all the neat shows seen on it.
