A little over a week ago we
posted news that an onliine e-tailer was reporting a July 12 release date for
The Mary Tyler Moore Show - The Complete 2nd Season. They also said it was a four-disc set, though, and it actually is a 3-DVD set. Well, the date turns out to be off as well!
This evening Fox Home Entertainment has formally announced the release, and the actual release date turns out to be
July 26th. It IS a 3-DVD set, but be aware that the third disc is a double-sided disc, and you'll love to hear what's on that back side: EXTRAS!!!
Cost is gonna make you happy, too: just $29.98 SRP in the USA, and CAN$45.98 in Canada. Audio is Mono in both English and Spanish, plus there are subtitles in both languges as well. Video is fullscreen 1.33:1, of course. Running time is 624 minutes for 24 episodes.
Now we have the box art that fans have waited 2-and-a-half years to see! Below that, you'll find a complete disc-by-disc listing of the contents, including loads of bonus features that many fans felt they would never, ever see! And let's all take a moment to say, "Thanks Fox!" for following through with this release and making it happen. You've justified our faith in you...Good Job!
Mary and the gang from WJM-TV return in another award-winning season. No longer the new girl in town, Mary has come to think of the newsroom staff as family. But along with the good times and close friendships come the often trying-and ultimately hilarious-situations every family faces. From Mary explaining the facts of life to Phyllis' daughter to going on a blind date (set up by Lou!) to attending her disastrous high school reunion, it's clear why this TV classic is one of the most beloved comedies of all time.
