This past Friday (July 3rd) we
posted some late-evening news that Amazon had updated their
Mary Tyler Moore Show - The Complete 5th Season pre-order listing to show a release date of
October 6th. More recently, Amazon has taken that date back off of their entry (although you can still place a pre-order), leaving fans to wonder if that date was a dream. We checked in with our industry contacts, and they assure us that it was no dream: Fox has informed retailers today that the set is indeed scheduled for that date!
They didn't stop there, though: the studio's info for retailers verifies that it is a 3-disc set costing $29.98 SRP (CA$37.98 SRP in Canada), for 581 minutes. Video is full frame, and audio is English mono, with English and Spanish subtitles. Package art isn't ready quite yet, so stay tuned, but the studio does list a disc-by-disc breakdown of the contents. There are no extras included in that breakdown, leading us to believe it will be a barebones set. However, we're sure that long-suffering fans are just happy to have the episodes!
