Late last week a wholesaler's marketing site had spilled the beans early, before Sony's announce date today, so we
passed along a report about the studio's
August 19th plans for
Married... with Children - The Complete 9th Season on DVD. This morning Sony Pictures Home Entertainment formally announced the title, confirming the info we provided...and passing on just a bit more.
We mentioned that the ninth season of the long-running sitcom had consisted of 28 episodes, but that two of them were essentially "clip shows" of the type often skipped on these season set releases. One was the special 200th "Best of Bundy" episode, and the other was another special episode later that year titled "My Favorite
Married" (the cast each pick their favorite episodes up to that point in the show's run). This morning Sony has confirmed that both of these will appear on this 3-disc set!
The cost of $39.95 SRP has also been confirmed this morning, along with the specs and "mini-sodes"-only extras we reported last time. However, the box art we displayed previously did indeed turn out to be just a temp picture. This morning we have a look at the final package art for this set (we love it a lot more, don't you?).
