This past autumn was
passed along word that
Mad Men - Season 2 would be coming out in the July, 2009 timeframe. We didn't have a specific date at the time, as Lionsgate hadn't (and still haven't, as of this writing) officially announced the title. Still, that didn't keep date-less preorder listings from appearing at various retailers, including Amazon, for both a
DVD and a high-def
Blu-ray Disc version of the set.
However, one of those online retailers taking pre-order listings, Barnes and Noble, have updated their entries to show a release date! Both the DVD and BD listings over there show that
Mad Men - Season 2 will be out on
July 7th. Our thanks to reader "Kevin" for the heads-up about that. Pricing is $49.98 SRP on the DVD, and a penny more at $49.99 SRP on the Blu-ray (although retailers are discounting the standard DVD version more deeply, probably due to a higher amount of anticipated purchases...as the ad staff at Sterling Cooper might say, it's all "volume, volume, volume!"). We're still waiting to find out more about the contents, and get package art, but stay tuned and we'll bring that to you just as soon as we can!
