Winner of 6 Emmy Awards, including "Outstanding Drama Series," and nominated for 10 other categories...AMC's
Mad Men is one of the most talked-about series on television these days. The first season was released on both DVD and Blu-ray Disc this past July, and the show's second season has just finished airing about a week-and-a-half ago. A season that included guest stars, old and new, such as Anne Dudek (
House), Denise Crosby (
Star Trek: TNG), Alexandra Paul (
Baywatch), Colin Hanks (
Roswell) and Robert Morse (who was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role this season). How soon will the second set of 13 episodes come to home video?
The honest answer is "we don't know...yet".
Mad Men - Season 2 hasn't officially been announced by Lionsgate just yet. Nor have any retailers posted the release date, either. Still, you CAN
pre-order it from Amazon on DVD as of this writing. As we said, there's no release date given, though. The big e-tailer simply says "
This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." They are currently selling it for $44.99 (subject to change at their discretion), a relatively mild discount from the $49.98 SRP shown there. No other info is provided, and no box art either (the only illustration is some promo poster art). Our thanks to reader "Jorie" for the heads-up about this listing.
What about a hi-def Blu-ray Disc release of
Mad Men - Season 2? Well,
Amazon lists it, too, but they aren't taking any pre-orders for it at the moment. This one says "
Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available, and that just means Amazon is collecting names of potential customers in the event that it gets released. Oh, we're reasonably sure it will be...it's just that there's nothing official on the record about it yet. Stay tuned, though, and we'll update you about these just as soon as we can!
