MacGyver - MacGyver's Final 14 Comes To DVD (Not The Follow-Up Telefilms, Though)

Posted by David Lambert
We told you over a month ago that October would see the DVD release of MacGyver - The Final Season (7). We had been told two different dates, though, and the answer is...October 24th!

All 14 episodes from the 1991-92 season are clearly going to be part of this 4-DVD set. There's no mention, however, of the 1994 follow-up telefilms, MacGyver: The Lost Treasure of Atlantis and MacGyver: Trail To Doomsday. Hopefully these will see a separate DVD release later on, if Paramount isn't putting them into this package. Perhaps they'll even toss in the 2003 failed pilot for Young MacGyver as well, featuring Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) as Clay MacGyver, the nephew of Richard Dean Anderson's character.

Over 11 Hours of episodes will be presented in full screen video, with English Stereo sound. Guest stars this season include an incredible array for just 14 episodes: David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London), Ben Stein (Ferris Bueller's Day Off), Michael Tucci (The Paper Chase), Lance LeGault (The A-Team), Shelley Berman (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Shawn Wayans (The Wayans Bros.), Michael des Barres (rock group Power Station and Melrose Place), Wendie Malick (Just Shoot Me!, Frasier), Randolph Mantooth (Emergency!), Cuba Gooding Jr. (Jerry Maguire, As Good As It Gets), Cleavon Little (Blazing Saddles), Della Reese (Touched By An Angel), Thomas Mikal Ford (The Parkers), Colm Meaney (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Bubba Smith (of the Baltimore Colts and the Police Academy films), Dick Butkus (of the Chicago Bears; he and Bubba Smith co-starred in TV's Blue Thunder series), Larry Wilcox (CHiPs), and Kathleen Freeman (The Blues Brothers).
