In an exclusive, straight-to-DVD release prior to the U.S. television broadcast premiere, the 5th volume of
MI-5 (called "
Spooks" in Britain) is coming out on
January 8th. The 5-disc set will have 10 episodes with over 8 hours of action. Cost is $35.98 SRP, significantly less than the eighty-dollar list price of the last three volume sets. Box art hasn't been released yet, so stay tuned for that. Here is the studio's description:
The wait is over - Volume 5 of the popular, BAFTA award-winning spy drama is coming to DVD with another ten episodes of razor-sharp intrigue!
MI-5: Volume 5 kicks off with an explosive two-part special which sees Britain on the verge of anarchy. A series of sinister terror strikes, combined with chronic fuel shortages, has plunged the country into crisis. As the desperately weakened Prime Minister fights to hold onto power, the public mood turns increasingly rebellious. MI-5 supremo Harry Pearce (Peter Firth) and team leader Adam Carter (Rupert Penry-Jones) begin to face the horrifying possibility that the country is under attack from sinister forces right at the heart of the establishment. So begins a dangerous game of bluff and counter-bluff.
