Sometimes trying to get the news to you first can be dangerous. Oh, it's nothing life-threatening, like it would be to the agents of
MI-5, but we DO make mistakes from time-to-time. We just have a quick note to correct one this morning.
A couple of weeks ago (has it been that long already?) we
broke the news that
MI-5 - Volume 5 is coming to DVD on
January 8th. The BBC release, distributed by Warner Home Video, had not been formally announced yet on that day; we were basing our story on release info forwarded to us from a retailer contact. The information they had received included a wrong list price on that item. That price was so low we even commented on it at the time: "
Cost is $35.98 SRP, significantly less than the eighty-dollar list price of the last three volume sets."
Now, after spotting pre-order listings at
Amazon.com and at
DVDEmpire.com, our two affiliate online retail partners, that show a Suggested Retail Price ("SRP") of $79.98, we've double-checked with distributor Warner Home Video. They've confirmed that the list price of this item is indeed $79.98, as set by The BBC.
Our apologies for getting your hopes up on the lower price; you can probably chalk this one up to "human error." Still, Amazon's cost right now is just $55.99, a nice savings on the SRP.
