A month ago we posted Shout! Factory's
press release officially announcing that they had plans to release 65 episodes of
M.A.S.K. on DVD in North America. At the time they didn't give a release date, or mention any strategy about how the DVD sets would be configured. A short time ago today the studio sent out their latest newsletter, which answered both questions with this statement:
"The 1980s fan favorite M.A.S.K. is coming to DVD this year thanks to a new deal we just finalized with FremantleMedia Enterprises. Plans are underway to release the 65 episodes that comprise the original complete series (though not the additional ten episodes sometimes referred to as Season Two) in a deluxe set, along with smaller bites in 2-disc sets, beginning August 9. More details to come!"
The newsletter also had a tiny look at the early cover art for one of the described upcoming
M.A.S.K. DVD releases, and we've got that thumbnail shot for you shown above. Stay tuned, of course, for more updates on this as further info becomes available!
