We don't have a specific release date yet, but Fox has let us know to expect the 3-DVD
M*A*S*H - Season 6 box set sometime in the May/June/July timeframe (probably June
according to previous info, but it could waver by 30 days either way), and have provided the cover art for us to take a gander at:
As you can see, this is the season of
M*A*S*H that changed out Swamp-mates again, as Larry "Frank Burns" Linville had left the show at the end of the fifth season. It was also the year in which Hawkeye and Hot Lips briefly explore long pent-up feelings for each other, in the first story that was split into two episode parts and broadcast during separate weeks. James Cromwell shows up as BJ's practical-joke-playing pal, and Alan Arbus returns for one of the best visits by Dr. Sidney Freedman yet (with guest star Michael O'Keefe (
Caddyshack, Roseanne) as his patient). It also featured the final "Mail Call" episode...always a fan favorite.
Here is a complete list of the 6th Season episodes: "Fade Out, Fade In" (double-length episode introducing David Ogden Stiers as Major Charles Emerson Winchester the 3rd), "Fallen Idol," "Last Laugh," "War of Nerves," "The Winchester Tapes," "The Light That Failed," "In Love and War," "Change Day," "Images," "The M*A*S*H Olympics," "The Grim Reaper," "Comrades in Arms (Part 1)," "Comrades in Arms (Part 2)," "The Merchant of Korea," "The Smell of Music," "Patient 4077," "Tea and Empathy," "Your Hit Parade," "What's Up, Doc?," "Mail Call 3," "Temporary Duty," "Potter's Retirement," "Dr. Winchester and Mr. Hyde," and "Major Toppo".
Stay tuned for the official street date and list price announcement for this release.
