We've had a number of readers e-mail us lately, telling us about sighting in their local Costco stores of a different kind of packaging for
M*A*S*H season sets than we're used to seeing on the previously-released "Collector's Editions". Readers like Chris, David and others (thanks to each of you) told us that they spotted all 11 seasons as separate season sets, but packaging all 3 discs into a regular-sized plastic case (like you would see any single-disc film normally come in).
Costco (which requires a membership) was selling these for $19.99 each, and nobody has reported being able to spot these at any other retailers. So we have tried to find out from Fox what is up with this, but unfortunately we never did get a response. But I popped down to my local Costco, stacked one of each season on the floor (up against a table leg) and snapped a picture of them with my cell phone camera:
