Last September we
reported on rumors that
The Lucy Show - The 1st Season would be coming to DVD from CBS/Paramount, hopefully in the "Spring 2009" timeframe. If that schedule were still on course, however, then we should have already heard about the studio's solicitations of the title with retailers by now. There's been no word about that, so has the schedule changed? It seems that it has!
Today we've been in touch with retail industry contacts, who say that CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment needed a bit more time to finalize the package, and so they are now eyeballing a
Late July/Early August timeframe for this title. With emphasis on "late July", we might add. However, no specific street date has been finalized, nor has content information been leaked yet. Stay tuned, however, and we'll fill you in further and more details come along!
And Lucille Ball fans shouldn't forget that this isn't the only TV-DVD effort coming this summer for the legendary comedienne. MPI Home Video is also
working on DVDs (in season sets) for
Here's Lucy, too! That will probably be later in the Summer, though, after their June 30th release of the Lucy double-feature of telefilms,
Lucy Gets Lucky & Three For Two, teaming her with Dean Martin in one and Jackie Gleason in the other. Stay tuned for updates about
