I Love Lucy that came out today? I sure did, completing my run of the series that I first started collecting on DVD
waaaaay back in 2002! So, is CBS/Paramount finished releasing
I Love Lucy DVDs?
Of course not!
You can officially put this in the "rumor" category until the studio makes it official, but our friends in the home video industry have told us to expect that we'll see an
I Love Lucy - The Complete Series sometime before 2007 is over. When exactly will we see it? No idea, yet. But I'll bet my socks that it will be on shelves in time for gift-giving season, eh?
For what it's worth, it's possible that this box set release will also include the "long lost"
I Love Lucy Movie on it. I had never heard about the existence of that before, but reader Ed Slonina sent us a note about it, and referred us to
this blog entry talking about it (go about 2/3rd's of the way down). It seems that our old friend, Gregg Oppenheimer, is working on bringing that rare gem to DVD as a separate item, so maybe it will also appear as part of
The Complete Series set? We'll let you know when the studio makes a formal announcement, so stay tuned!
