With
I Love Lucy - The Complete 2nd Season being just days away from being released (next Tuesday, August 31st), Paramount and CBS Home Video have let us know that the 3rd Season is already in-the-works, and will arrive in time for the holidays.
Despite a long delay for the 2nd Season box set, Paramount intends to get
I Love Lucy - The Complete 3rd Season into stores this
November. They can do this because the discs have been in pre-production since at least this past Spring (a fact we
reported in passing this past May).
It will be another fun ride with the Ricardos and the Mertzes for the third straight year, as they hit #1 in the ratings: Lucy and Ethel mistakenly buy the same dress to wear for a duet of "Friendship" in a talent show. Lucy bets that she can tell nothing but 100% the truth and subsequently reveals true feelings about the Mertzes (calling Fred a tightwad) and secrets about herself and Ricky (want to know Lucy's true hair color?). Lucy gets mistaken for a burgler, Ricky invents an old girlfriend that turns out to be not-so-invented, Ricky babysits Little Ricky (who wanders away while Ricky watches a football game), Lucy spends a dollar bill worth $300, Ricky falls for a Lucy trick to test his fidelity, and Lucy's "cousin" Tennesse Ernie Ford comes to visit in a hilarious two-parter. It's more side-splitting humor...just in time for the holidays.
