As we've reported, RHI Entertainment and Vivendi Entertainment had announced March and April dates for single-DVD releases of
The Little Rascals - Volume 1 and
Volume 2, which are budget-priced ($7.93 each) break-outs of discs from the 8-DVD
"Little Rascals - The Complete Collection (1929-1938)" release RHI put out in 2008. And, as you know from our previous report, those two single-disc releases were pushed back to
June 14th (both titles).
Now Vivendi is alerting retailers that on the same date, June 14th, RHI will also make available most of the rest of those discs as "
The Little Rascals - Volume 3," "
Volume 4," "
Volume 5," "
Volume 6," and "
Volume 7." As with the first two titles, these will cost $7.93 each. Package art for these new items hasn't been provided yet, but it's expected that they will use the same look as the first two volumes (see below), but with different coloring. Like all single-disc releases, these are not aimed at the passionate DVD-collecting fans (they probably already have the big set we linked to above, which is a better deal overall), but rather at the more casual fans who look to pick up an under-$10 bargain or grab something at the checkout lane on impulse.
