Earlier this year we
passed along word that Imavision would release this Fall a
Little House On The Prairie - The Movies DVD release, featuring the 3 post-series telefilms ("
Little House: Look Back to Yesterday," "
Little House: Bless All The Dear Children" and "
Little House: The Last Farewell"). Now Imavision's distribution company, Goldhil, has announced this release, which ships on
October 17th.
Besides the three telefilms (the first two of which were directed by cast member Victor French, and the final one which was directed by Michael Landon himself), you'll also get a number of bonus features:
- Melissa Gilbert Interview - a very personal, revealing conversation with Melissa Gilbert about her life-shaping Little House experience
- Casting Little House - a conversation with Little House on the Prairie's casting director, Susan Sukman McCray.
- Farewell to Walnut Grove - a documentary providing background on the making of the final Little House movies and why "The Last Farewell" marked such a dramatic and irreversible ending to the series.
Video is in the original 1.33:1 full screen, and audio is in Dolby Stereo. Running time on the features is 420 minutes. Thanks to reader Ed Slonina for tipping us off to this information. Here's the box art for this highly anticipated conclusion to one of the best shows ever to air on television:
